The extraordinariness of the ordinary

“Sometimes it happens that you become one, in some rare moments. […] Whenever, in whatsoever situation, you become one, a peace, a happiness, a bliss, surrounds you, arises in you. You feel fulfilled. There is no need to wait for these moments – these moments can become your natural life. These extraordinary moments can become ordinary moments. […] because the whole question is of you doing your action totally, enjoying, delighting in it”. – Osho

When we quiet our mind, when we feel our way in life and use our brain when we need it (and not let it use us), we are free and life becomes extraordinary.

A father told me he “should” meditate more.

The thing is, I’m sure he meditates more often than he thinks he does. It’s simply that we have an image of what meditation should look like.

So my answer was: “You know those moments, when you stop whatever you're doing, when you stop thinking, and you let yourself be basked in the moment, while hearing your kids laughter, and there's a warmth growing within you? You feel love... and loved, because their laughter is a sign they're happy with you. You absorb that moment with every fiber of your being... you may even have tears of gratitude welling up. Well... at that moment, you're in a meditative state: fully present, in the moment, filling up with love”.

As you pay attention, as you become more attentive to life, to what you are doing, your whole life becomes extraordinary: cleaning the dishes, chopping wood, doing your grocery…

Your being has become quiet enough to feel the love that’s always around you. At all times.
